Which Videocards are supported by the simulator?
Posted by eDiver on March 23, 2009 at 11:47 pm in Help - FAQ
Currently the eDiving simulator has been tested with the following videocards:
nVidia: Quadro NVS 110M, GeForce 6000, Geforce 7800GT, Geforce 8800GT, GeForce 9600 GT.
ATI: Radeon Express 1100, 9600, Radeon x1800, Radeon 2900, HD3450 or HD4870.
Intel: x3100 chipset (but the simulator will run slow). Make sure you have the most updated drivers from Intel; You can find them here

More powerful is your videocard and smoother the simulator will run :-)

Yes, the original post describes baseline requirements, anything faster/newer will run it as well.

Work good with ATI HD3450.

Thanks.

I have already tested the game on my office comp. Work force of this ATI X550 isn't full. Water surface cannot be seen. It's because the videocard does not support shaders. But this videocard supports pixel shaders v2.0 and Vertex Shaders 2. Maybe you use pixel shaders v3.0?

Hi,

I believe the water uses some Pixel Shader instructions that are not available in some older Pixel Shader 2.0 cards (so it may be that it is relying on PixelShader 3.0 features).

My own card (GeForce 8800 GTS) works fine.

These cards could run the simulator after a driver update (so there original drivers don't support it, but more recent ones did):
Intel X3100 / GMA 965
Intel GMA 950
nVidia GeForce 6800

These cards do not work at all, despite Pixel Shader2.0 compliance:
nVidia GeForce 6150 SE
nVidia GeForce FX Go5200 (probably PS2 compliant as part of the 5 series, but some information indicates it may not have been).
Intel 910GL/915G
